Re: The AR08 Discussion Thread

Just in case anyone's concerned about transporting stuff, I have a spare Renntec Sportsrack for the curvy SV, and a complete set of Oxford Platinum luggage- tailpack and panniers- which anyone is welcome to a lend of. Obviously they're in Edinburgh but I can post them out if need be.

I've also got a spare tent, it'd be the same deal- I'm not bringing it down on the bike, but I can post it to anyone who's needing a lend. It's a wee Eurohike number, never really used- my mate bought it for festivals but it's not durable enough for that, for Reading you need a tent that will withstand having 5 people in a shopping trolley roll over it, while on fire  But it's a decent wee tent for camping in less hostile environments!

And PS, WOOOOO! Top work all concerned, out of the frying pan into the campsite!

pmapp 22-02-08 11:05 PM

Re: The AR08 Discussion Thread

Can we start Team Renntec? Dizzy, Yorkie and me so far. Any more?

well as the deadline for booking isn't a concern now, I should be there even if I don't do the actual rideout, as long as I can ride that far, then I can make it back :D.

So far more likely now, nice job Rick.

Cheers Mark.

Don't encourage him!!!! It may well fall to bits on the way down. He gave me a lift on it last night from work. It vibrated in all the wrong places, my feet had a funny sensation when i got off the footpegs and my hands felt like 12 after that grabrail.
If he rode down on that he may well have no teeth left from its super vibes! However it does have the most original STUBBIE end can from 1986??
And its taken more of a salt bath than Suze...lol

Any idea of what route you might be taking ? M62/M6/M5 or more scenic and through the countryside ? maybe we could have a border patrol/ Pennine massive ride in ? :riding::riding::riding::riding::riding::riding:

Planning on a scenic route through Wales me. Will post an invite to any that wish to join me. I have Friday off and will spend the day riding down. Ride home will be on direct A-roads, but will be trying to avoid motorways. May as well enjoy the whole weekend as a bike riding experience............

Just been onto the Easy Jet site, and flights to and from Bristol are about 60 quid for the round trip. Bristol might be a better bet for getting a lift maybe.

Bristol's a lot nearer to the AR than Manchester!

Would you fit in my top box? Probably not.

Ah, but what if I get that really big one, the Maxia? It'd be bigger than your tent...

yeah but if someone is caging it from manchester, then I wouldn't discriminate against them, lol.

Northy: Well the physio kept checking to see how bendy my leg was, so we could try and see how bendy the rest of me is. And we all know that the underseat storage on an sv was more roomy than my tent. A top box would be luxury, lol.
