Michelin Pilot Sport

fitted today :thumright:

worth the two hours it took, grunting & groaning to get the old MEZ4s off.

Pilot Sports stick like a gluey thing - even with a load of salt under them that the gritters had kindly laid down.

cant wait to get them out on a 'normal' road surface, to see how good they really are.

Alan.

ps - i was out with a guy who was on his GSXR 750 - good god, how fast are they? he left me like i was parked up when we got onto the motorway

Are they the new 2 compound ones, or the last model (still grippy no doubt ;) ) ?

Any plans to tr5y them out on track later in the year, I'd be interested to hear your reports.

How did you break the old bead?

i have no plans to track the bike this year (only been riding since August 07)
dont feel confident enough for that yet .

busters accessories has Pilot Sports in thier 'special offers' section for £119.99p for a pair
(dont get them from the michelin page in the site - they are £135 on that page)

if you use the promotion code VARADERO10 when you sibmit your details you will get another 10% off.
I got them delivered for £113.

as for breaking the ld bead - my mate has a bead breaker.
he rides club races & it saves him loads of money & time fitting his own tyres.

Was watching a programme the other day about riding to timbuk-tu. There they use the side-stand to break the bead.

Requires 3 folk.

Folk 1 lines up sidestand on the bead.
Folk 2 & 3 who were both stopping the bike falling over now lift the bike so the weight is on the side0stand and so on the bead.

They had a GS1200 so lots of weight and bits to grab hold of the bike by. Prob a bit trickier of you've got a heavily plasticed lightweight bike.

Looked very simple, but guess they've done it a few times.

36 front 42 back as far as I know. At least on my Hairnet. I love them. Got 2 pairs in the winter. Very sticky indeed! They grip fantastically well especially when pushed hard. They are only the 1 compound ones but I have to recommend them. They are quick to change directions (IMO) and inspire confidence whilst leant over! Not sure how long will they last, but what a heck ... they are worth it!

Top man!

Was just looking round, and got an e-mail from M&P, with their offers.
Thought they were a bargain at ?130, then saw this thread.

Just got the pair, inc VAT & delivery, for £113!

Always been a bridgestone man (010's or 020's), but thought I'd give these a try because of their very positive reviews.
