New Silverstone MotogGP Layout

Anyone planning on riding the new layout this year?

What are your thoughts of the changes? Both in terms of fun on a track/race day and in terms of watching the MotoGP...

Depending on price, i really look forward to trying it out. :D

For sure...so long as it isn't stupidly overpriced!

It's only really the infield that has changed from what I can see from the old gp circuit which I really liked, the stretch down to bridge was awaomely fast, I guess the new one will leas to some good on the brakes action.

More good news is that work restarted at donington park to return the track to the original standard and abuyer has been found. Not seen it in the news yet though but hopefully my source is right.

I did the old GP circuit too - found it to be amazing but it was my first TD so wasn't pushing.

I was actually checking the trackday websites to see what dates there were, but nothing available yet. I guess they don't like planning as much as I do! :)

+ woodcot, the hairpin before (brooklands)?
+ getting rid of that stupid 25mph chicane immediate before the pit straight
- bridge and the two left handers after were good fun on the old layout

overall I reckon it will be a great layout for td's and gp

They may still have the piddly annoying chicane onto the main straight for trackdays, this is just a layout for the MotoGP circuit i think.

Zombie, which two left handers were you on about?

true, they usually have trackdays over GP, historic gp, international and national configs. I'd image they'd eventually have trackdays on that layout assuming they sort out cameras and warning light or marshal booths.

The left handers are priory and luffied after bridge, the grey'd out ones on the map.

Ah right. I was confused as i didn't think you meant Luffield.

You still kind of get to do it. Just not in exactly the same way as before. ;)

going to do it on the 29th March , with a load from an other forum. Should be good.

First track day of the year and on a new bike, so will be taking it easy. Therefore will book into Novice, and see if i can move to inters for the afternoon session.
