black plastic polish
The AL7 has an abundance of black plastic which I used to clean with Toyota trim polish which was an oil based spray, it worked well but they no longer sell it.
A lot of modern plastic trim polishes/cleaners are water based and I've been disappointed with the results. This protectorant works well: https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/303-aerospace-protectant I've been using it for a year or so but, unlike the Toyota oil based spray, water doesn't bead and run off. I recently received this: https://tinyurl.com/y89osl33 This is oil based and dries leaving the textured plastic (like the pieces where your legs rub on the AL7) looking shiny and wet. I've no idea how durable it is as yet but on looks alone, I'm pleased with the results. It's best to use an old dish sponge as an applicator. |
Re: black plastic polish
I have used this CarPlan black trim wax on black exterior plastic on cars and bikes for many years, also used
on black rims. works well on the scuttle area on cars in front of windscreen as well as roof rails and the black bits on doors ( centre pillars ) and the bits running along bottom of windows ( where the moss can grow LOL ). It has actually got black pigment in it and is not just a silicone 'tyre shine' type. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00427RU...osi&th=1&psc=1 |

Re: black plastic polish
Chemical Guys stuff is excellent as is Gtechniq. I use Clean Your Car for all my valeting kit as they have a great range and good delivery. Their comprehensive review are spot on from what I've tried too.
