Re: Street name game:
Teejay - I was expecting that. Just surprised it took a little while to crop up!
I also claim 63. This is the oddest road sign I have come across though. Checking the location on Street View it is a normal sign but when I got down the gravel-strewn track leading to this place it was an odd stick... Oh well. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c5c2de9.jpg |
Re: Street name game:
Its a theft deterrent, concreted bollard with the road name as opposed to a demount able sign lol. I suppose the road signs is appealing to little toe rags with spanners.
Sorry for the crossed identity Trev, all sorted now :) |

Re: Street name game:
Is Hoe Approach on that list? Plymouth if I remember correctly!

Re: Street name game:
Here we go again...
I hereby claim, in the name of Sir Trev... 41 - The Bush. As this is only a roadlet, a demi-road if you like, with about three houses on it there is no road sign... Very odd. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/...psdf4a15cf.jpg 79 - Tinkerbush Lane. http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3a51fbc0.jpg |

25. Wetwang, East Yorkshire http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1020494.jpg 11. Hole of Horcum, North Yorkshire http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/P1020497.jpg The signs for Hole of Horcum have disappeared, but Horcum Dyke sounds right to me! |
Re: Street name game:
I Claim 87. Cockermouth Green, Newcastle.
The is no signs at the green (The PC gestapo at Newcastle City Council are serious). May I suggest its rechallenged and it becomes the following: Cockermouth Road, Sunderland http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/...ps940abc24.jpg |
Re: Street name game:
Damn someone already got Crotch Crescent! I live there :safe: ... No genuinely, I actually do.. with probably the most unfortunate house number too

Ah it was you fine sir! I think I'm going to swing by Beef lane in town on the way to the gym this evening (No thats not a euphemism ;) ) Pictures to follow later...
|
Re: Street name game:
I spent a good 15 minutes looking for Beef lane and found it behind a locked gate:mad:
|
Re: Street name game:
As Beef Lane was in central Oxford I did not even consider looking for it, considering the town is the most vehicle-hating place I've come across.

Re: Street name game:

I claim 96. Great Tosson, Northumberland
Had to take the pic at Tosson Tower as Great Tosson was almost a gravel Road https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...35716879_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...18635446_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...91257008_n.jpg |

Re: Street name game:
I claim #101, The Butts (Leading to the Rectory), Wiltshire:
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps88848f03.jpg Ok its not on the list but I couldn't resist it. Noticed it by chance a couple of months ago, but only just had a chance to go back and snap it. Its in the village of Lydiard Millicent just out side of Swindon if you're interested. The entrance is a little tight, but once you've made it in there's plenty of room to swing round, I didn't even touch the curbs... |

Re: Street name game:
#71. Bladda, Paisley.
No sign as it's just a carpark that was a wee lane before that. https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...17841353_n.jpg Will post up Merkins Avenue, West Dumbartonshire tomorrow. |
Re: Street name game:
