Mars is about 140 million miles away, it actually gets to within 33.75 million miles, but, as the planet is only 2118.75 miles in radius it won't look like another moon. See here: Mars.nasa.gov/allaboutmars/nightsky/mars-close-approach/

It will be about 120 times smaller than the moon.
and it's often visible, looking like a dull red star, but Venus tends to be more so. |
