Grinding when first starting out

Hey SV'ers,
I have a weird issue. When I first start out, upon letting out the clutch with the throttle held open, it grinds, it feels like the chain is slipping, but its not. It makes a grinding noise then once I'm off the rest of the drive goes great, no other issues or funny noises at all, and it has great throttle response. Any ideas?

Mine does this, I haven't yet fathomed it as I've had the bugger in bits a few times and nothing seems bent, warped or worn out.

It seems to coincide with a grab which slides the back tyre a quarter turn or so. I am thinking it is notched basket that hangs then releases and chatters, thus explaining the grab and the screaming noise.

Mine used to do the same. I replaced the clutch plates & all is now well
