I was fine Sunday night, and yesterday, but today my knackered shoulder has packed up, and I'm sure my hips coming out in sympathy for matt.......feels like I been kicked by a donkey on me as$se cheeks

Re: downside to AR08
nah i was fine, oh wait i only had to go 30 miles home!!!
|
Re: downside to AR08
My ride was a bit over 160 miles- we went the long way. OK we got lost:rolleyes: but I got off the bike - not a bike renowned for ergos - without any aches, even in wrists. My toes had a few pins and needles but that was cos they were cold and wet. So Matt you need to get a 675.

Re: downside to AR08
Matt, unless you've had problems with your back when riding the bike before, I'd be more inclined to blame the camping part of the weekend, especially as it was cold as well. Did you have insulated mats to lie on?
|
Re: downside to AR08
I'd be inclined to agree with Pete......May I suggest investing in an double airbed for you and the missus for your next AR. Invaluable, you never feel like you've slept on a board!!
Oh and inflatable pillows too...I like luxury camping me:-) |
Re: downside to AR08
i'd be inclined when going uphill :)

I think I'm just a stiff old git at the ripe old age of 22...I didnt feel cold in my tent, no colder than I would be in bed in the middle of the night at home when the windows are open What if I got one of them thar comfty saddles you have pete? |

TBH, our saddle was more for looks than comfort as we never had any trouble with the standard seats. One other thought, your saddle hasn't been messed about with has it? Maybe a previous owner took some padding out. |
Re: downside to AR08
I got home and the right side of my body ached and had pains in my wrist, elbow, and knee. Oh well, shouldn't have wellied it home and maybe broke it up a bit, but I was just thinking of a nice bath.

Re: downside to AR08
Matt is it possible that the dainty frame of Maria holding or leaning on you has caused this? there is a fair gap between rider and pillion and sometimes the pillion gets into the habit of leaning onto the back of the rider so they feel closer as opposed to shuffling their bum forward and gripping with their knees.
Its a possibility. |
Re: downside to AR08
I felt in pretty great shape when I got home, my brain was a bit frazzled from nighttime motorway riding in the p***ing rain- couldn't see enough and it totally got to me- but physically I was fine. Despite somehow deflating my air mattress on saturday night, and using my topbox for a pillow :drunken:

Re: downside to AR08
It was long enough for me :p
On another note, I think my achey back may be to do with my back protector - i think its a bit long. I wasn't given any help in selecting the right size for me when I brought it :( |
