Indicator Issues

I recently acquired a K3 SV650S, and it’s developed an indicator problem.

Indicating left or right, all 4 indicators flash. The dashboard repeaters do not extinguish, they just go dim/bright/dim/bright in line with the indicators.

The bike has LED indicators fitted, but they were working before.

I’ve checked a few different things, starting with disconnecting each indicator to try and isolate the problem - even with all 4 indicators disconnected the problem still occurs.

My guess is that it’s switchgear related, but I thought I’d best ask here first. I did do a search but none of the indicator problems I’ve seen listed match what I need to fix.

I have seen that the bikes can be susceptible to earth faults, is there a particular bit of the loom known for wearing through and shorting out?

Thanks in advance.

Has bike been out in rain or washed recently ? Many indicator problems can be water in handlebar switchgear or plugs under fuel tank - especially with LED indcators and their lower current draw.

It’s been out in rain since the problem started, not washed recently (usually use quick detailer instead).

I’ve got to lift the tank anyway to fit a new air filter, so I’ll check the connections there.

Thanks.
