differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
What are the differences between the naked pointy and faired one... Ie.. footpegs, seat, clocks etc:)

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
ermm one has a fairing the other one does not. ok so the early k3 were different but they were different anyway.
front MC switchgear throttle cables clutch cable bars yokes rear sprocket is 49t, chain is 110 links apart from the above everything is exactly the same. |
Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
There's always someone who states the bloody obvious! The bike i'm looking at is a naked 53 plate pointy shape. Are the seat and footpegs the same position as the faired version? Why would they change the master cylinder and switchgear?

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
the K3 naked has slightly lower foot pegs and they are unique to that particular year and bike but the later ones fit.
the k3 has a higher rear subframe that is made of steel rather than ally of the later bikes and as such has different riders seat and rear plastics. the exhaust link pipe is also different to the later bikes. apart from that they are exactly the same bike up until the twin sparks. the MC is is of the integrated type e.g. no separate rez coz its a naked K3 pointys are one of a kind and only produced in that year. why do you ask? |

I had a faired pointy k4 a few years ago and wasn't keen on the clip ons. All my bikes have bars - tuono v4 and fazer 1000. The Sv would be for work and i like a more upright riding position. What's the difference of the link pipe as i would want to fit an aftermarket can to it. Is this model a k3 or k4

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
yes thats a k3 naked and a nice one at that.
the link pipe for an aftermarket can is different to all the rest of the pointys as the rear subframe is higher. |
Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
Can i get the link pipe for it ie.. fuel, delkevic etc..

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
Are the downpipes stainless?

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
yes and yes

Re: differences between the naked pointy and faired pointy
I checked a couple of exhaust websites and they all list 99 - 03, 03 on... I take it the link pipes for the k3 and the later ones are the same. Maybe need rotated slightly to fit?
