What happens when you are caught by a speed camera?
Last month, someone I know received a letter saying they had been caught by a speed camera. They fessed up, said they were driving and a week later received a letter saying they will get points and a fine.
They paid the fine online, out in their license details and expected their points to be added. Recently said person's insurance is up for renewal so to check exactly when the points were added looked up their driving record on DVLA. Much to this person's surprise it still shows the license as being clean. Did the person miss a step? Do they need to send their license off? |

sounds like a clerical error. tell them to keep quiet about it. they might get a letter saying points have been added they might not.

Or it was all bogus, and they paid a fake fine.

Thanks for the replies, the thought did cross mind that it could be a scam. More likely a clerical error though.

Yup, the normal 'third party' enquiry to avoid owning up. |

A scam you would have been given the time date and place of said speeding and had to post your license to dvla thing is you have given all your details to them now.

Turns out you do have to send of your photocard license. I, I mean the person I know. Got this through the post.
What they do with the license and why they need it is anyone's guess but there you go.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...47e9b8a34d.jpg Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk |
