SV650.org - SV650 & Gladius 650 Forum - 2002 SV650S curvy

Hi all

I have reluctantly decided to sell my 2002 SV650S K2 curvy for spares or repair. This was my first big bike, but I have conceded I do not have the time, tools or knowledge to get the bike back up and running in the next few years.

:) V5 present - 1 previous owner before me
:) Blue - I believe it is Grand Candy Blue
:) Alpha Dot security markings
:) Both wheels have Michelin PilotRoad 3s - hardly used.
:) Clear HPI check from when I bought the bike, some bills and receipts and I believe all old MOTs
:) Brand new Yuasa battery bought and maintained using Optimate charger

:( The brakes will need attention as they failed the last MOT on this.
:( Some of the panels have seen some action but are useable.
:( The front forks have surface corrosion.

The bike was sporadically running poorly under heavy acceleration and also sometimes when cornering before failing the MOT on the brakes - neither of these problems occurred all the time. A few people suggested it might be dirty carbs or bad fuel so I decided to strip it back to work on the carbs. I took the bike apart and have inspected and partially cleaned the carbs, but they look fine to my amateur eye. Further diagnosis would be needed to get this up and running. If not a project, perhaps the engine, tyres and other items might be helpful as a donor bike for someone?
