Clutch lever

I've gone for some cheap adjustable levers as an old injury to my left hand means that over time I struggle with standard clutch levers on most bikes.

I fit the brake lever and that is spot on.

The clutch lever however doesn't seem to have the tab which contacts the clutch switch.

I have a very late model pointy sv 650 on a 63 plate. Looking at other clutch levers, it looks like one for a gladius is more likely to be the right one as it has the tab but I'm not sure

Has any one else found this with late model pointy SV's?

Re: Clutch lever

Hope some one can point you to a lever you want.I personally don't have the Clutch lever switch on my bikes.Mine are shorted across and removed.

As my hands age I've developed a,"Thumb -Over" technique on my Clutch hand to rest it when out of traffic and at steady speed.By this I mean I raise my thumb from under the grip to on top and rest it and bring it back down when I know I'm going to need it.

These little bits of,"Rests" help a great deal I've found and the technique soon becomes 2nd nature.

I also have a,"Vista" cruise control on my Throttle side which I use from time-to-time :)

Re: Clutch lever

unfortunately its entirely hit and miss as even gladius levers get sent without the tab sometimes in my experience. where abouts are you located as i may have one lying around?

best not to short the switch on the late model pointies as it messes them up when decelerating and stalls them.

no worries, its to do with new programming put in that switches fuelling maps between clutch in/out if you trick it by shorting it kills the engine for a false issue i think.

This one of the several reasons I waited and waited until a Good,"Curvy" came up on eBay last year when I bought my "99".I wanted Carbs and no,"black-Box" technology, just basically Old-School :smt005

Thanks I appreciate that. I'll be in touch if I still have issues.

But I think I may have sussed it.
I saw this on eBay and matched this pic to my original lever and the layout is identical.
It's just been delivered so I'll have a look when I get home.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d79b6b4be3.jpg

Ha ha wish I saw this before.

Right, I've just tried the lever adapter and it's spot on.

So if you have a late pointy sv you need the clutch lever for a gladius.

See pic

Bottom is the original lever

Middle is the new lever with the gladius adapter

Top is the SV650 adapter that came with the new lever.
