Technology ...

I realise technology isn't everyone's thing, particularly when it comes to motorcycles, but I spotted this on the Suzuki SV650 page:

Quote:

ADVANCED RIDER TECHNOLOGY
The SV650 is equipped with some of the most advanced rider technology available, including Low RPM Assist and Suzuki Easy Start System.
Does this really count as "some of the most advanced rider technology"?

I need the Suzuki Easy Start System because having to pull the clutch in that extra time to start the bike was wearing me out. I need to lie down just thinking about it.
(I'm not sure my Low RPM Assist is still working)

Most modern devices come with the V.H.A.S. (Verbose Hyperbolic Advertising Slogan)

The low RPM assist is so subtle it is easy to forget it is there, as for the one push easy start, what is that for, doesn't make the bike start any easier really, maybe saves a bit of battery ( and maybe the brushes in starter motor )..

:-D

I didn't know you didn't need to pull the clutch in! Awesome!

I'm sure you could wire it in a way you don't need to pull the clutch in.
Think I did that once when I had a remote start on a bike... Wasn't so great if you left it in gear though...

Got it on my GSX S1000. Just means you sit at the lights with the clutch near bite point with the engine revs at 2000 and the cooling fan cutting in... and it will still stall (tested) if you release the clutch anything other than REALLY slowly. Pointless, and it's listed as an advantage for large capacity V twins when it's an IL4. Gotta wonder.

I always thought that was a bit daft. I've generally only ever had carb bikes. If you wanted anti stall just increase the idle speed... same thing right :-)

Or just rev the **** off it and dump the clutch! :p

I must have Suzuki Easy Start System on my K6 (I have soldered the two wires that normally go to the switch on the clutch lever to short them out permanently - I’ll decide when this thing starts, not the bike)...

:-)
