Buckled wheel - Repair or replace?

My front wheel went over a rock at the weekend and took quite a big dent. Do you think I should get it repaired or buy a new one? New one is £300, repair is £90

The wheel bearing on the side that took the impact is quite tight to turn. As you can see in the video the whole wheel is quite far out as well as having the bump in the side.

Speak to motoliner, I've got a feeling that some wheels like that can't be fixed

I've sent them an email with pics to get their opinion. I'm kind of leaning towards replacing it tbh

with a new wheel you usually need to get new bearings and seals, old spacer can be used in new wheel.

TBH if it can be repaired and i see no reason why it cant then i would. but whatever makes you happy is the best action.

Fowlers and Apriliagenuineparts.co.uk include the bearings, seals and the spacer in the price of the wheel

I wouldnt feel confident having that repaired.

Second hand an option?

What Aprilia is that off? Looks very similar to my Dorsoduro wheel, there is one breaking on eBay at the moment.

Yeah it is a Dorso. I've messaged them to get a price. Cheers

I've repaired similar to that so it may be doable but as others have said if you go to the experts (someone like Motoliner) they will know for sure. Keep in mind if this is you pride and joy road bike you're probably going to have to paint it as well afterwards and that will soon rack up the cost. A good clean secondhand wheel off Ebay is your best bet and it's looks like you might be lucky if they're breaking one at the moment.

I think motoliner spray it if it needs it.

The eBay guy wants £320

I told him they are £300 new and he said ...

"Whys there one on eBay 2nd hand for £400? That's the only other one for sale. Good luck finding another one"

I said look on fowlers, 250+vat. He said...

"Buy one of them"

Why are breakers such ****s

There is an entire front end for £500. Get that, sell the forks, disks and calipers for £400+ if you dont mind holding out. An almost free wheel :-)

Personally I would buy new, £250+VAT is pretty good.
