Most of the tracks being jammed to on youtube still have all of the components in the track...you can buy some tracks from karaoke sites though, but they'll usually only be popular vocal-based songs.
You won't be able to get hold of the stem files for songs (ie. individual instrument tracks) to create your own backing track, unfortunately.

I'll have a look tonight. I used to know a site where you could download beats for free. But they were more sort of rap and RnB beats.

Easy......years ago when I was singing I used to be able to get hold of backing tracks no problem. Most good instrument shops that I've been in keep a stock of the more popular, but they are mainly for vocal. The linky above is for guitar, but you can get them for almost anything. Some free, some you have to pay.

Good luck x

Light bulb moment

Do a Google search for Guitar Pro 5.
If you can find a torrent of the full version (not the demo) then download it.

You can then use ultimate-guitar.com to download files for it by searching the song name and you can mute whichever tracks you want to (mute guitar if that's what you play).

You can also edit the tabs and change the speed. (Slow it down if you're struggling etc...)

Good programme for things like that but don't rely on it to improve your playing
