Where to go in the US - urgent help?

Have the oppertunity to take a week holiday in the US at the end of February. The downside is that I have to work out what airport I am going to be flying back from by 5pm today.

Long story short - girlfriend going to the US compliments of the NHS (she is a dentist). They have offered to fly her back a week after the conference from a airport of her choice but we have to work out the airport so that they can book the flights today.

Possible ideas so far:

Florida - have an uncle in Miami so could meet with them and travel round a bit
Las Vegas - girlfriend went there last summer and I have already done the Grand Canyon etc so am not that keen.
Canada - skiing, my personal preference, but as we are already going skiing next year my gf isnt keen. Is it a bit cold in Feb to do the sight seeing thing in Canada?

Help or suggestions appreciatted.

Jon

California of course, we have a little of everything. Oceans, deserts, mountains, you name it we have it. San Fransico, the Redwoods, Lake Tahoe, Skiing up at Tahoe is great, and very beautiful. The west coast in the winter is the best time to see it. You might even get to see whales migrating. Lot's of stuff to do around the SF Bayarea. Even motorcycle rentals.

If I were to do a road trip, start at San Fran and then head north to Seattle does that sound about right for a weeks holiday? I suppose if we had time we could nip into Vancouver etc.

What do you think?

It depends on what ya want to do out there, FL will be warmest place to go unless you head to some where like San diego which is a nice place. I can say San Fran is awesome been there its lots to do......though if you went there I would suggest hiring a bike and go for ride to LA on highway 101, its an awesome but only done it in a car.

FL you have Dinsey and that junk, I may go there next year for like 10 days but thats only casue I have american friend with a house down there. It really depends on what you want out of the trip.

Also NYC is awesome, I would say go to a ICe Hockey game, or basket ball great musems, bars and places to see. But i haven't been since 03 so I have no idea in what it has changed since then. Shopping is great there in the city some good bargins to had there, there is also an outlet mall an hour out of the city, by bus that place blows the minds so many stores! Let me know where you go I may been there and have some clue of whats going on. Buy CA, FL or NYC you camn't go wrong, oh the divijng is good in FL to, I would suggest West Palm Beach or further down from there.

San Francisco booked! Sunday 24 Feb - Tuesday 4th March 2008. Not sure what the plan is yet but am thinking...

5 days San Francisco
3 days Lake Tahoe
2 days touring (maybe Yosemite National Park)

Any recommendations?

None from me. The only two times I have been to the states was to run round 26 miles of Boston and New York. So no help from me.
