Just wondering if anyone could post a picture of the 'not for road use' stamp, so I can establish whether it is possible to polish it out?
Cheers

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

Don't buy a race can. Buy a standard with baffle (and hence stamped for road use) them remove the baffle, hence making it illegal. Not recommended as could not condone riding an illegal bike, but it don't half sound good on a track with the baffle out!

Bought my Fuel can thrilled with the service (thanks Louise) and delivery. Well worth the money.

I got my fuel exhaust fitted today. Was worth the wait to get it in the garage. Sounds and looks fantastic. I'm yet to hear it without the baffles but im sure it will sound incredible. The service from Fuel was brilliant. Can't recommend them enough.

Just for reference. This is a Titanium Oval Mini (350mm)

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

I've been thinking about changing the exhaust can on my SV650s and the Fuel looks good - but how much surgery is there to be done when it's fitted, do you need to have a power commander to make the best of it, does it offer any extra torque or benefits apart from being lighter & looking better than the standard exhaust?

Before I spend my limited cash I just want to make sure I'm getting the best value that I can.......

Had the fuel on the S for a few months and now thought that I'd have the Beowolf on the S and the Fuel on the N. Dont know if its me but, I prefer the Beowolf over the Fuel.

Had my FUEL can for many years now , got it at the N.E.C.,the last time they were there. excellent looks and sound. I recomend their product. Just one small gripe, i asked them over a year ago if i could have a couple of stickers for my fairing [other companies i asked sent some back by return of post ] I have sent a few reminders over the past year , and they have replied, that they havn't forgotten. but still no stickers ! Shame coz when my bikes parked on a day out ,people ask 'what make is the can', can't tell them if i'm not there though. Hope somebody from FUEL reads this ..they might take the hint.

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

Not long fitted mine. It's a S/S Midi Oval.
Very easy to fit, used a Hacksaw with 24T blade to cut though old exhaust.
I started it with baffle in at first, then removed it. It's loud, but I would say no more loud than a Harley with Screaming eagle pipes.

The baffle is very easy to remove, so I most probably fit it if I had to use the bike when going to work on an early shift, then remove it before coming home.

First impressions,, I'm very happy, the build quality is excellent!

I emailed them asking about stickers not long ago, Louise replied within 24hours saying that they don't currently have any stickers but she will hold onto my email adress as they are thinking about getting some produced :)

And here is my fuel can...

Looks like a good deal. I'm thinking of buying a mini carbon oval for my 's'
I know that they are a deeper tone, but what volume are we talking about, compared with standard can. I really don't want it much louder....

A mini will be alot louder than standard i have a midi and its loud but nice loud and still a good bit louder than standard with baffle in. Maybe you have some local orgers by you so you can have a listen to theirs first?

Plenty clips on tube but best to hear first hand

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

Just fitted the midi in stainless steel. Quality seems excellent and easy enough to fit (cutting off the oe silencer a bit of a slog though). The midi seems to "fit" the bike so it doesn't look like an add-on and is a vast improvement over the oe howitzer. The sound, even with the baffle in, is throaty and exactly what you'd expect a v-twin to sound like and not neutered like the original. Without the baffle is an exercise in attention-seeking! Have to get used to the new, lovely sound, as I kept thinking I was being trailed by a big bike! Recommended.

Fuel were a great company to deal with, the can arrived pretty swiftly and well packaged. The can now being on the bike looks and sounds lovely, and even though its stainless steel its a shed load lighter than the standard one as its a lot smaller (its the micro mini). Fitting was dead simple although it took a while to cut through the original pipe with a hack saw.
Best bit, great quality and miles cheaper than any NEW equivalent I could find.
Highly recommended.

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

I see only one issue with the fitment in your photo...

...you've left the baffle in!!

BikerCraig 24-09-13 11:22 AM

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

haha yes jason, the nut and screw is nice and tight so there is absolutely no chance that it may accidentally fall out at some point ;)

Would the engine need remapping if I got one for a pointy?

Shouldn't do, I have a micro mini and it's fine.

Toooldtodie 15-10-13 08:03 AM

Re: Fuel Exhaust Offer

No. You may notice a difference without the baffle in (other than dB level) as you lose a bit of low rev torque, but above 4k it pulls more eagerly than standard. With baffle in I could detect no difference in engine performance or fuel consumption, just sounded much sweeter.
