Lightning LS-218

LS-218 electric motorcycle. Yes, I know it costs $39,000 and I know it will only do 160-180 miles (with extra power pack), I'd still like to ride one.

"We actually can’t even apply full throttle until after 100 mph because there is so much torque available that it will just spin and smoke the tire on the dyno."

That looks like fun. 218 mph!!
I could live with 160 - 180 miles range. I'm sure I'd be dead before I got that far.

If I had the £39000 I'd buy one

Hmmm. Interesting to say the least. Won't be too long I'm sure before all the manufacturers will be hinting at electric models coming along the development path.

This. My company car is a BMW225 and even though the electric motor (which drives the rear wheels) only puts out 120ft-lb of torque, it's available instantly from zero rpm. You can get amusing wheelspin with the traction control off.
