Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
OK here's another one for you to make your feelings known.
Now we have a route ( and it's brilliant, thanks Supervox) we know where lunch will be on the ridout. It will be in a smallish place that doesn't have a lot by way of food provision. But we can organise food in advance from a small tea room there, that has a great reputation. They cannot cope with all of us without prior warning. So the choice is yours as per poll 1. Pre-order light lunch such as sarnies 2. bring your own food (eg sarnies bought at previous petrol stop) 3. Do nothing and see what the food fairies sort out. TBH my preferred option is for No.1 but I need to know if there's enough interest to go ahead and book it with the place. This may involve paying deposit upfront |
Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
Option number one sounds good to me :D

Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
Option one does sound good, but I'm greedy and wouldn't want anyone to miss out when they find I've eaten all the sandwiches! I'll bring/buy something for myself methinks.

I liked the AR08 lunch do:
Stop in a town and everyone wanders off to find food and have what they fancy. Id much prefer that option. Maria |
Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
Any more info about local food provisions i.e. shops, chippy, fast food establishment etc.
I think it will help people to make a more informed choice. Cheers Mes |
Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
There is no other local provision. That's what I said in the first post and why I'm asking the question.
And after much thought and a LOT of work from Supervox the route won't be changed to find a small town to accomodate other options |
Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
Sorry messie, not having a go and not picking on you or trying to get the route changed. Your original post says not much in the way of provisions, this lead me to believe there may be other provisions. Now I know there isn't, I can make my informed choice.

Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
No probs Phil xx
No local shop sorry. Pub that does typical pub food, which is OK but they don't do fast. Tea rooms are good but will only cope if we let them know in advance. People could easily bring their own for picnic type thing though if that's what people prefer |
Re: Another Q for planning purposes - Sat lunch?
I am up for pre-booking. There will be the opportunity to snack at the fuel stops. A light lunch at the lunch stop and a BBQ on the evening. Sounds perfect.

Assuming that we are able to get a full English for breaky, I see nothing wrong with sandwich type lunch, hot beef with plenty horseradish on a granary barm for me please. see pre ordered already
