December Photo Competition

Thank you to miss yorkie_chris for choosing my picture from the Lakes last year. So it falls to me to pick a subject for the December photo competition. Before I reveal all and in time honoured tradition here are the rules:

1.One picture per person
2.Must be the contributors own work (or of you)
3.You can mess with the picture in photoshop type programs by changing colours, contracts etc but please don't alter the content in the picture, for example adding a nice tall young lady next to you when clearly you wouldn't stand a chance
4.Preferable size – max 800 pixels on the longest edge (just so I can see the thing on my monitor lol)

So the theme for December is …. drum role:

POWER!!!

Yes power, in any form, natural or man made, mental or physical, personal power or global power, yes if you have a picture of a nuke going off that would count and would probably win – See rule 2

Just as a rubbish example here is pic I took of a Typhoon going north with AB's running at the Dawlish air show last year, very powerful, very loud and great to watch.

Good luck all and I'm looking forward to what you can come up with.

Inspired by TC3's wide angle shot of an F40, I submit a tank from the Imperial war museum taken last year.

I need a new camera sulk sulk, can't get pics as good as most of yours, been looking at a eos 500d, but will have to wait a while yet.

To explain my meaning of power:- The first photo is of the cement truck trying to pull the landrover upright and failing.

This is the photo i'm submitting for the competition:- The power of the landrover;-)

Good point Darren (SV650S) - I have just tweaked that rule to add "or of you" Think that's a bit better that way tbh.

Just also to clarify on the photoshop thing, feel free to change colours, contrasts etc like the sunflower last month, (by the way that was bloody good) but don't add new content to the picture.

Great pics so far, really impressed.

Bluefishman - yep, know what you are saying about cameras, it took me ages to save up for my canon 350d but you can capture power with smaller cameras. A couple of examples:

Light a fart and take a picture of it - very powerful
draw strange images on a power socket and take a picture - kinda out there bit fits the bill
A tear - emotionally powerful and would be a different take on the theme

There are loads of things you could do with this and image quality isn't the only thing to look at, the concept is as, if not more important.

I love that photo, was just hoping you would have posted it as I scrolled down.
