Have always liked the Lightning.
Still the only solely British Mach 2 fighter. 1300 mph, 0 - 50,000 feet in a minute. Bloody loud.

Rather like the Typhoon [emoji16]

I can remember the Lightning from air displays when I was a kid and yes, it was very loud. Buccaneers weren't quiet either.
Interesting thing I read yesterday at the museum; the Lightning was mainly a cold war plane, built to intercept Russian bombers, hence the fast climb rate, but the only aircraft Lightnings ever shot down was a Harrier! The controls had gone, the pilot ejected but the plane remained in the air and was destroyed in case it crashed into a populated area.

Lightening blew the windows of the control tower doing a vertical climb on afterburners at my local aerodrome in the 1970s when it had a little air display. Fantastic but blooming loud

Spring floods in Shrewsbury. Poor daffs frozen and then drowned.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...09c8cd6405.jpg

Considering how often Shrewsbury floods I'm amazed daffs survive at all within half a mile of the Severn.

Luckily the river level rises quickly and drops back equally quickly so it's probably just a quick shock for the daffs.
