Variable compression engine
"I do cars" is a youtube channel that tears down broken engines that usually have had a catastrophic failure.
The latest video is a Nissan variable compression engine which I didn't know existed, not that I keep up with car developments. It's a longish video (50+ mins) but entertaining (to me, at least). You'll learn new expressions like "forbidden glitter" and "malice in the combustion palace" if you watch several of his videos, he posts a new one weekly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wqccs9XjMKs The guy that tears the engine down runs a salvage yard and is, in my opinion, talented. He sometimes videos himself fixing a non-running car that he bought at auction and explains what he's doing along the way. |
Re: Variable compression engine
I've seen some images of a Conrod with an small end mounted in an eccentric bearing. I wondered what the purpose was and again it's to alter the compression.
