Name your all time favourite Track Day track.

So what's the best track you've ridden? Why is it your favourite? What is it's best feature? How many times have you been there?

Only one track please, I know it's hard to choose sometimes.

Donington Park, either GP or national circuits. I've done Donington 4 times now and just can't get bored with it.

It has everything, slow corners, hairpins, fast sweepers, double apexs, corners just over blind crests. You can ride it slow or fast and still feel exhilerated lap after lap. Its best feature has to be Coppice, the scariest entry to any corner on any circuit I've ridden.

2ns place goes to Silverstone GP.

Oulton Park (the full circuit) April 07.

Why?

1. It was my first track day. I did it on a H***a CBF500 (my courier bike) and for most of the first session I still had the top box on! But then they black flagged me and told me to take it off. :smt067Probably the R1 rider (see below) complaining!

2. I scared the carp out of a marshall! I got one of the corners wrong, headed, at speed, towards his little post, yanked the brakes on, stopped and carried on. At the lunch break he asked how I had managed to stay upright on the wet grass. My reply? ABS!
3. Cascades. What a fun corner. Got my first full track bike scalp there. Took him (R1) round the outside.

Only been once but I'd love to go back on a better bike.

Another good thing was doing the Cat & Fiddle for the first time on the way to the track.

Oulton ranks very high with me too.

EDIT - Actually, I'd rate Oulton better than Silverstone.

For me so far it would have to be Spa, an awesome track, I love Pouhon the double apex downhill left hander, absolutely awesome. Eau Rouge it great too, especially as the exit is a little blind. There are some great elevation changes, stunning scenery and quite good fries.

I can't wait to give it a go on a more powerful bike, as after Eau Rouge there's an uphill straight, not one of the SV's strong points!

I'm hoping to do a track day at the 'Ring, but so far it has been touristfahren which isn't quite the same as a track day, but it's another awesome track.

I only have experience of two circuits on a bike - Snetterton and Donington (national) but I cant believe many tracks are better than Donington - what a truely awesome place - I loved it and cant wait to go back!

Hard choice between Cadwell and Rockingham National....

Cadwell for the adrenalin and mix of corners...

Rockingham for the niceness of the track and how safe it is.

I did a closed track day at Nurburgring and I don't anything comes close to that experience. But short circuits I like Donington (only done GP) best.
