I think that may depend on your height. I'm 5'6 and found the seat excrutiating - the seat base would slowly grind it's way into my thigh which was tolerable for a little while until I had to put a foot down then it was like someone sawing my leg off. (but I'm a wuss and allergic to pain) ;) Other people have given it the "not too bad" grade (but they're just being nice imho).
There are several options from remortgaging the house and buying a Corbin, to Bagster (sell a kidney) or a local upholsterer (I used Core seats in Lincoln). There are also various gel pads...You'll know pretty quickly - I only lasted 300 miles.
