Sv650s too much or not enough bike?

Hi guys, im new here!
I have a few questions about the Sv650s. I've been riding a 09 Ninja 250r for a year and have logged around 6K miles on it. Im ready to move up to a bigger bike for more stability and comfort.
I was really considering the ninja 650r or the SV650s full fairing "S".
I saw on the 09 650r and it was nice, but the SV has this sexy look to it.

Do you think it's enough bike for me.. or could it be too much b/c of my prior riding experience.

Also, are the only two colors for 09 in America, really only Gray and blue? What about 10?

I I think SV's are superb bikes, and as other bikes, only go as fast as you tell them too.

I think the Kawasaki you're referring to is called the ER6 in the UK, and will be geared for a lower top speed than the SV.

Mate my first bike was an SV and its defo not too much imo so long as you're sensible.

You've done 6k on a Ninja250r so you're more prepared than I ever was.

My first bike was an SV650s 2002 and I loved it. My current bike is now a 2006 Ninja 650r (not heard it called that on here, you from the States btw?)/Er6f in Black with red frame. I also love it to bits.

It seems as though you're talking about newer models though, so I guess only you'll know which one you'd prefer the look of. As for the ride, well I'm not sure how the Ninja250r rides as I've never ridden one myself, but I found the SV's ride and handling more fun. If you want the one that feels 'sportier' then go for the SV. 650r still a superb bike, and I don't know which one I'm gonna sell when I sort out my SV.

Neither, it sounds about ideal for you. The SV is novice friendly and has more power than you'll ever need on the road. It has no problem keeping up with 110bhp 600 race replica's up to about 100mph.

I have over 10 times your mileage under my belt, and having upgraded my suspension (which is the SV's biggest downfall) I'm still have a blast riding mine.

As said, if you are sensible then there should be absolutely no reason not to go for either... as to which, well only you can decide that. :)

125 cruiser with 12bhp to SV650S for me.
Absolutely perfect bike to get you up the ladder. Very forgiving and confidence inspiring for the novice rider.
You'll have no issue at all with one.

SV650S too much or not enough? I'd say just right.

No bike is too much if you are comfortable with it. Most people wouldn't describe the SV/ER6 as too much anyway.

Best thing is to have a ride on them and see what you think. :D

Both bikes would be more than suitable as your next step up the "biking tree", take bother out for a test ride and see which you prefer.
