Recommendation for a good Mechanic in Bristol

My cbr600rr has just had it's 12,000 mile service done by Rich Feltham of Fixit Motorcycle Mechanics

Rich operates from a workshop in Portishead but also works mobile, which was ideal for me as it is difficult for me to get my bike to a workshop and then on to work or whatever.

Anyway, the service was a minor and included a change of brake fluid and an oil & filter change on top of the usual inspections and adjustments. Total cost ?37.90 for parts and ?45 labour (1.5 hours) which I think is reasonable on top of being really convenient.

He used to work for Riders, has loads of race and track experience, is polite, well presented and wouldn't scare you in a dark alley (i.e. he's not a tattooed scumbag chancer).

On the basis of my experience I think I'll be using his services for both of our bikes from now on.

Rich mobile is 0772 9866681 - Tell him Alex sent you.

If you need an MOT I recommend the council's own MOT testing station which is on the junction of the A4 Bath Road and Sandy Park Road close to the ITV studios. You won't get leniency, but you will be able to get booked in quickly and be safe in the knowledge that as they don't do mechanical work, they won't tell you that something needs doing that doesn't.

Very good suggestion :smt023, esp as I dont have noisy can or anything like that (and a full size plate only takes a minute to slap on)

Hi Anna,

I used to go to John, but the location and hours they work were not convenient for me.
