Fitting a fenda extenda
 

Fitting a fenda extenda - are the sticky pads it comes with sufficient?
Or do I really need to also use the self tapping screws it came with as well?

Would also like to use some sealant to stop water running down the outside of the extanda.

I used the screws... but then I do a lot of miles...

would you like to travel at 100mph being held on by sticky tape? Nope! :) I would always secure it right.

I used alraldite.

Remove the front mudguard and hold the fender extender in place and draw round the end of the fender extender with a marker pen to give you an area to abrade.

A quick rub with some emery cloth in this area to give a key. A few blobs of Alaldite and hold the fender extender in place overnight with 3 G clamps (One on the middle and one on each side)

It has held for over 12000 miles to date without nasty holes etc.

Mine sat next to me ready to be fitted. Theres no way I would trust just the sticky pads that come with it. But i dont want to use the horrid looking self tapping screws. I am going to glue ot bond it on when I get round to doing it. I have also got my Motovation sliders to fit aswell when I get round to it!

If it didnt need screws then they wouldnt come with it. You wouldnt put a Wardrobe together with the glue that comes with them would you?

i used the screws, you know it aint gonna drop off.

I was too lazy to take the mudguard off so used a power drill carefully :shock: , trying not to hit the tyre.

Would recommend screws. Mine has been on 2½ years and is still pretty solid.

I used the screws. Whilst glue may work for normal use, bear in mind things like a stone could get caught on the tyre and get dragged under the fender (entertaining "WTF!" noise if it happens :wink: ) before hitting the extender.

If you're worried about the screws catching on the tyre, you can always file down the sharp points once the extender is screwed to the fender.

Aye that is what I did, been there for about 2000 miles now.
