Silverstone 11th August
 

Monday 11th August, Silverstone GP (full circuit), £159 I think, with No Limits. Anyone else up for it? Me and Pies in the inters again. Not booked yet but will get thumb out of bum soon. Really want to try to crack 130 down the Hangar Straight before I feel the urge to brake, which bizzarely is great fun even on a bike half the power of some of the others that will be there.

I was there a few weeks ago, for the first time since 2012. Disappointed to see they've changed Chapel (for trackdays, at least) which really screws up the run onto Hangar Straight. I was hoping to beat my previous best of 172 before braking for Stowe, but barely managed much over 160.

Lame.

I was there the week before you and noticed the exact same thing
Don't think i even needed to use 6th gear

Might try the international circuit in a few weeks time instead of the full GP

Hmm will see, I never rode the GP before. Did the International last year, the run onto Hangar Straight is slow but there is a big area where you could run wide on the exit so making it wider than it seems. I was already using 6th on the SV, 5th tops out about 120 or so!

Well the international circuit on the 5th is now fully booked
Have you done a trackday with no limits before?
I am tempted by this day now

Come and do Snetterton on the 10th of August. Officially faster than Silverstone now.

It is faster but has a low db limit
I would not make it on track with a 102db limit

You might want to get that sorted then. Noise limits are only going to get lower, and a bike that's too noisy to take on a track isn't much use.

I was surprised to find even Silverstone now has a lower limit than it used to. Much more than 102 and you might find they send you home. They were quite blunt in the briefing about no second chances too.
