Powder spraying GRP

So we have this piece of GRP thats going to live its life a few inches above the ground getting everything that the front wheel can throw at it.

Some body shops have offerred us two pack epoxy finished and polished to a lustrous sheene. (at a price)

Some body shops have offered us "plastic" primer smoothed to perfection then over coated with (presumably) a water based final and then laquered. (at a similar price)

But then it occurs to me that a powder coated finish is more than enough given where this particular piece of GRP is going to live.

But can GRP stand the heat? I thought not then found some guy selling a similar piece of GRP which he claims was powder "sprayed"

Sprayed ? coated? is there a difference?

Powder coating involves spraying on the powder, and then baking it afterwards. It also applies the powder by using an electronic charge, so I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to do it.

I may stand corrected on this, but there were no other replies :smt083

I reckon the 2-pack stuff is going to be the better. Then again, is the lacquer on the painted option 2-pack?

The single base lacquer is pretty soft.
