Engine Gremlins. Please help me!!!

I'm having problems with my 2001 svs. I abused her slightly by leaving her in the rain for two days and now she's getting her own back. She is really rough when idling and when applying the throttle she'll get to 2500 to 3000rpm then cut out. She wont start at all with the choke on. I've had the plugs out and given them a clean, had the air filter out (a little oil and a tiny bit of water in the air box) and made sure she's got fuel in her but still no joy. Any ideas anyone???

Any chance you've got water into your petrol?

Nup, drained the tank before i topped it up again with fresh fuel!

When you drained the old fuel out, did you drain the carb float bowls? otherwise there could still be water / rubbish in them. Other than that get out the WD40 and tool kit and start undoing every electrical multi-plug spraying and re-connecting. Check the battery terminals are tight on too. Make sure the area where the plug caps go into the engine are dry, and in the case of the front one that the little drain hole is clear.
