Cerakote is done on the wheels. I did them in Barrett Bronze. I checked them again to see if they are straight. Then stripped the tire and rotors off. The rear disk was on there good with loctite. I had to use Heat, PB Blaster, and an impact. I didn't sandblast them. I just etched them, because they were anodized. There is a slight rough edge were it was lipped, but its not bad at all. Coat went on smooth. I like it with the black and gold on the bike.

Really liking those wheels dude. How much did it cost you to get them sorted? Am going to be stripping and spraying mine up over the winter but may have to go down the rattle can route...

Thanks Man. To get started spraying, I literally bought the cheapest Chinese made 25 gallon air compressor, & Paint Sprayer that I could find. Add hoses fittings and Cerakote and total was 200 dollars, (about 160 quid.). Not sure how it is across the pond but I shop at harbor freight to buy cheap Chinese made tools. I go to their website and read the reviews before go in and pick them up. A lot of it is garbage but I've used the compressor, and welder on several big jobs, its paid for itself. Is that what your askin?


Nothing wrong with that. Spray paint has come along way in the last 10 years. If you sand it then wipe it down with acetone first then Primer/Paint/Clear/Clear and lightly sand with 800 grit in between coats it'll be real durable. These are small enough spray jobs, that I've thought about using spray cans to save some money.

I finished buying Christmas presents last week... Funny thing happened this weekend. Instead of buying more motorcycle parts, I started building a shop. It's a 12x16, yea it may slow down progress but it's too cold to ride for awhile.
Plus I won't have to worry about someone steeling it, or limbs falling and hitting it.

Just got a free zx6r rear shock. Seems to fit really good... it's a few millimeters longer than stock, and the weight limit is right for a 200lb guy like me. I know it's not a zx10r like most conversions are... Thoughts?

Thought: Does the batterybox still fit ok?
