Ok so after a rather lengthy conversation, in which I completely failed to describe the differences of bike engine noises with my brum brum vocabulary I thought I would ask the mighty org...

How do you describe a V-Twin engine noise??

depends whose bike it is, some go thump thump, some go thump thump rattle bang clang :D

Depends, twin, triple, four?

Twin is defo brum brum, triple is brubrubrummm, fours don't make any sound, too quiet.

Mine is more a wob wob wob wob wob waaaab waaaab waaaaaab waaaaaab waaaaaab waaaaaaab.

When idling its more of a thump thump, when moving they sound very lazy with a sort of rumbly sound, no other sound like it though!
