Some on-board footage

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TNQ5TsBJX-8

My very first attempt at recording and editing some footage.

I'm using the Drift HD Ghost S, with an external mic (in some shots!) and the suction mount.

Does anyone know how to keep the quality high? It's recorded in 1080p and looks crisp on the computer, but once uploaded it's only 360p and looks pants!?

The quality is fine mate, i can view in 1080p.

Haven't had time to watch it fully but from what i saw i like the angles.

Thanks.

I can view it in 720p now on the iPad. And on the laptop I can select 1080p. So all good.

It would look a lot better without the black window. The shots look good though :)

Huh, only noticed the black window now you've mentioned it.

Not sure how or why! It wasn't deliberate. It's my first time using Windows Movie Maker & YouTube upload so I'm guessing its one of those. I'll see if I can change it next time.

Edit - I've just checked, going to the main YouTube website it has the box, but using the YouTube app it's full screen. I don't understand technology:confused:

Windows movie maker isn't great, I use iMovie, much more simple to use and doesn't crash mid project.

Looks good.... where/how did you mount camera for the shots at 2:10?

Thanks.

I mounted it on the side of the rear fairing/tail unit.
It was a bit tricky, as it's not a huge surface area. I did have it tied to a point under the cowl too though, just in case it fell off!

I'll put it on again over the weekend and take a picture.

It's a massive plus for the Drift IMO, as there is so many options with angles. The suction mount has two joints in it, the clip on the back of the camera turns 360° & the lens itself turns pretty much 360° too. Play around a bit, and the choice of angles are vast
