The Beltica does look a bit knocked around, 35mm I presume as it's a 50mm lens? Depends what you're after I guess.

No good on the Konica for me at any rate, ta though. Think it has to be the same or a Yashica Lynx, still looking. Was hoping a family member was going to be able to bring one back from the US but not looking so much like it now, there are a few over there but the postage here is silly money.

If I put Kenzie's Vito back together (successfully!) i could send it to you if you want. No meter and scale focus though.

Am mid-way through the Certo. I need to resolder a joint on my shutter tester PCB and check it out, clean up the camera body, and put it back together. Cleaned the lenses and rangefinder tonight. \both front and back lenses just unscrew, and if you need to get into the shutter gubbins, it's a few screws and you're there, minutes' work.

TBH haven't even looked at the Vito, I was thinking of it but there is a 1940s day for the Queen's birthday in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd get the Certo ready and put some B&W film in it. Few things turn heads like a folding camera!

There's a Pentax MX for sale in Bristol, £35 on Gumtree, a steal if anyone's down that way. They sell for close on twice that normally.

If you fix the Vito, then it's a possibility. TBH, something simple where she has to think about the basics; light and distance is not such a bad idea. She's a she - and Chinese. As long as it looks cool and/or cute, she won't complain.

Dunno if there's a lurker in the Bristol area. I always look nationally at these things as I know people all over, but I travel around a lot with work. A couple of times it's come together, or like the K1000, someone benefits.

I've seen quite a few posts on forums about what camera etc. Simple answer is, what do you want to shoot? If she's going to shoot buildings etc. then anything will do. If it's more going to be grabbed shots (the term "vernacular photography" seems to be in just now) then some automation or at least aids to speed things up are high on the list, like a meter. And depends a bit how much time they want to spend thinking about it, or just subject metering and bam, NEXT! I usually try to skim read a manual of something I'm interested in, find out how it works, see if it's what I'm after. I'm picky thought I guess!
