Who got out at the weekend?
Saturday was bright & breezy, and I had an unexpected free pass for the weekend, so I took the AL7 for a proper shakedown ride into Wales.
The tops around Snowdon still had a dusting of snow on them, and even Blaenau Ffestiniog didn't look too grim in the sunshine  It's ages since I've had a bacon & egg barm at the Blue China. And I'd never realised how close the Trawsfynydd nuke plant was to Porthmadog. https://i.ibb.co/nDbjhK5/Bike-at-Criccieth.jpg |

It's just next to the RNLI station, on Criccieth seafront. Lovely view across the bay to Harlech, and Cadwalladers ice-cream is just up the hill :)

Re: Who got out at the weekend?
Never made it out I'm afraid. Saturday was spent with one of my daughters, playing music for the Whitchurch Spring Fair. Sunday morning, went for a run and gardening all afternoon.
If the weather perks up during the week I may try and snatch a day out on the bike. |
Re: Who got out at the weekend?
@Gary - which road would you recommend for a ride to Aberystwyth (if I ever get round to it)?
I could either go Wrexham - Bala - Cross Foxes - Machynlleth, or Oswestry - Welshpool - Newtown and pick up the A44 West to Aber. They're pretty much the same distance-wise. Suppose I could go out one way and back the other :) |

Made it out today, but only into Welshpool on a job. I made the mistake of wearing my summer gloves. Bloody hell, that was cold!
