Storm
I drove up to just near Ellesmere Port to collect half a dozen oak half whiskey barrels this afternoon. On the way back down, the sky to the south was as black as the Ace of Spades, and just as we reached Wrecsam it started raining. Within a mile it was a downpour of biblical proportions, with frequent forks of lightning and the constant crashing of thunder. At one point there was about an inch of hail all up the sides of the road, and lots of flooding. It carried on almost to Llynclys, and then just stopped, and within half a mile everywhere was bone dry again!
We didn't get it in Llanfyllin, but we could see it go by to the east of us. Seriously impressive storm. |

Re: Storm
Sounds similar to weather yesterday where I am. Couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out of the window to see hailstones bouncing around. And then an hour later bright sunshine. Crazy times!
And along the lines of Craig's comment, when I first read yours I did wonder (for a second or two) wouldn't three complete ones be better than six half barrels!;) |
Re: Storm
We had a weather warning for possible thunderstorms yesterday and today in our area, but it seems the warning has been lifted. I guess Wrecsam got it (20 miles away) and not us.
