Garmin Sat navs

Hi all, we have a Garmin Zumo say nav for the bike and we are having trouble with imported routes. We are trying to import a 200 mile loop into the system but it will either only do half the route or won't navigate properly if you don't start exactly at the specified start point. Is there a limit on waypoints? We are adding the maps via Garmin Basecamp.

Plenty of memory on the unit? I have an SD card in my TomTom but tend to remove routes I no longer need. Having said that, I've not downloaded a route for ages as the copy of Tyre I used to use was on my old PC and I've not tried reloading it to the new one.

My wife did mention that, I'll see about chucking a card into it

I've found that it's better to import shared maps by saving it onto the laptop then drag/drop straight to the zumo using windows explorer rather than opening in Basecamp first.

Building in Basecamp and transferring over seems to work OK. Maybe check you don't have any route preferences fudging it on import?

TYRE is your friend (click the link) unless you are planning things on a phone.

i have used this for years. once you get used to things you wont use anything else. also you have to import files as .gpx TYRE does everything automatically once set up.
