Been T-boned on the way to work - UPDATED

Riding into work tonight and M60 was stopped for an accident. Got off motorway and the A roads are rammed for miles. After a mile of filtering a girl has been flashed out of a side street just as I passed and T-boned me. Stayed on but she has broken my lowers, bent in my heel plate and trashed my left hand can. After exchanging details I carried on into work but my foot was killing me. Mrs Ratty came out and took me to hospital and I'm now sporting a cast from toes to my knee for a suspected fracture to my foot. Fracture clinic booked for Monday morning. Dred to think how bad it could have been without my new TCX race boots which are armoured all around the foot and ankle. Looks like I may be out of action for the best six weeks of the year including two booked track days. Bugger :crutches:

Gutted for you mate.
Did the other driver accept liability? Only ask as it could go either way if not.

Awww. :(

Hope things get sorted quick. Always got to be extra keen on spotting them doing that. Had to stop for a couple today on the A64 for same sort of thing.

Heal fast ;)

She did verbally and was really upset and opologetic. I didn't get anything written down on liability. Think I may have been a little shocked. I have got two witnesses from the queue who said I was riding cautously and didn't stand a chance as she pulled out when I was only feet away.

The bike is barely hurt Ed, but I'm upset with myself for the quality time I'll miss with the family like cycle rides and walking.

I'll also miss my mountain biking and will not make the Manchester to Blackpool charity ride in July unless they reconsider and cut the cast off on Monday.

Fingers and toes crossed.

Ratty
