Curvy bar and problem.
Hi all, just bought some nice shiny alloy bar ends and got all geared up to fit them when ... unscrewed the standard weight and found it just bolts into what seems like a flat plate in the end of the bar!
Not the usual squashable rubber jobbie as found on most bar end weights. Question is ... how do they come out? As i can't fit the new bar ends until the end of the bar is clear from the obstruction. Anyone come across this also? |
Re: Curvy bar and problem.
They are welded in unfortunately. Does the "rubber jobbie" have the same size central screw?

In the process of installing bar-end mirrors
http://web.ncf.ca/ag136/SV650/barEndMirrors.html I found that the threaded hole is 6mm. |
Re: Curvy bar and problem.
Yeah, new bar ends are same thread as originals, guess I'll have to remove so.e metal from new bar ends so they butt up against the solid bar so as to leave no gap! Classic example of suzuki trying to re-invent the wheel!
Ah well... it's all fun n games modding a bike eh. |

Just that the Ns aren't fitted the same way.
