October Photo Comp - Vastness
This months theme is vastness!
A photo that really captures the impressive scale of the scene. So that whoever see's the photo can appreciate either the immense size, scale or height of the situation. I don't really have any good examples because this is something I have never been able to do! Which is why I picked it as the theme :) But here are some that I would like to have done a better job capturing https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4491/...caabd8e7_b.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4387/...e3e07647_b.jpg |

I think I will run with this one. The main span is 190m. Note the photographer at the bottom, not right under the bridge though.

Re: October Photo Comp - Vastness
We're going to get loads of similar entries of mountains, so in a break from the expected, here is the American IPA aisle at the bottle shop in Folsom, California. That's right, that's just American IPAs, there was another aisle for other IPAs, another for bitters, another for lagers, ciders etc and a walk in chiller room if you wanted cold stuff, and that was before we even started looking at wine and spirits. This place was bigger than my local massive Sainsbury and it was just for alcohol. VAST!

The Blue Ridge Mountains of Eastern North America.
Vast forestland, thick, dense and covering everything, for as far as the eye can see. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4451/3...87d65f84_b.jpg |

Banannaman, even if you do have an unfair advantage in most of the landscape entries! It makes me want to just head out there and not come back. Close second from Gary.

LOL I feel the same when I see pictures of the UK countryside especially Wales and Scotland. For me, no where else in the world can compare with the UK's Castles and stunning scenery. I guess the grass is always greener eh? |
Re: October Photo Comp - Vastness
Garynortheast by my reckoning! Well done mate.

Re: October Photo Comp - Vastness
Thanks folks. Picture was taken on what was then a 6 year old Canon Power Shot after camping overnight at 2000ft on Crib y Rhiw between Harlech and Barmouth.
Give me a bit of time and I'll post a new topic up tomorrow once I've thought of something. |
