Rattle can spraying advice needed!
Ok, so I am certainly going about this @rse about face as I have already done most of the spraying  but here goes!
I am after a bit of advice of how to get an acceptable level of finish spraying my belly pan with a rattle can. I prepped the fairing and applied a coulpe of coats of white plastic primer. wet sanded it with 1000 grit, applied three light coats of colour (canyon yellow) wet sanded with 1000 grit. I have since applied about 4 coats of clear coat. Should I be wet sanding in between coats or hust after the last coat? Is 4 or 5 coats of clear coat too much too little? Also how long should I leave it before giving it a final wt sand and compound/polish? I am using my greenhouse as a spray booth come low bake oven!! I am using holts colour matched paint and Halfrauds clear coat. I know these aren't the best quality, but then neither is my belly pan nor my spraying technique! I am just hoping for a half decent result that will look ok when riding along or whilst squinting  Thanks all :D |
