Krypton Factor! Transport a fence panel!

Your task for today is to figure out how to transport a 5*6 foot fence panel 3 miles from Homebase to, well, my home base. Homebase don't do delivery on this item :( Although they'll happily deliver items that would fit in an average car

Your tools to achieve this task are:
One Audi A4 saloon (why didn't I buy the estate?)
One Suzuki SV650 :smt029
Enough bungee cord to weave a fishing net
An old 4'6" by 6'6" futon mattress

Bonus objectives are to avoid paint scratching and avoid hiring a van/buying a roof rack.

I'm thinking futon on roof, fence panel on futon, bungee cord through open windows and hooked onto the grab rails. Not sure how well this contraption will hold together at speed though (it's all 30mph zones in between but even that may be too fast?) Need front-back bungees as well as side-side? If so, hook onto what?

I kinda had that dilemma once before, then I figured it was easier to buy from somewhere else - our local woodyard charged more but delivered free

Nice pic. Thought I would illustrate my suggestion too.

no no no you've clearly drawn a ford escort there:roll:

I've transported one of those big chain link fences on top of a Citroen Berlingo with 2 bungee cords and still did 70mph on the motorway but it had a roof rack but if you put something on the roof to stop it getting scratched your idea should work

p.s. nice drawing

I like this idea better....

tow the mattress behind the bike with the fence pannels bungied to it.
