That lots of you would like to return to Essex for another event next year, not an AR, more an early summer get together.

I found out if i use my card more than 3 times in a pay at pump it wont work till the next day.(handy as the Volvo need filling up)
Oh and every one learnt a bit about The village near the barns, which claims
England's largest village hall. lol

I learnt not to trust daddy jobs navigational ability unless you'd prefer finding an adventure rather than a route to where you want to go... So he'll be leading every local ride out from now on.

I also learnt that the lot of you are the friendliest, most welcoming people I'm ever likely to meet and that I definitely need knee sliders and lots of riding practice before AR13!

I learnt the following indisputable facts:

Badger! Top lad. I posted something completely different here before, but SuperVox had to edit it out. I wonder if anyone can guess what I mentioned?! Either way, awesome bloke!

SVMad. Such a shame this dude is leaving the country for three years, because he is a top lad with a good sense of humour and a most importantly of all, a loose wallet. I can't imagine how much money I will waste over the next 3 ARs without him around to offer me drinks every 5 minutes. Maybe write me an IOU Chris?!?

PyroUK. Another quality gent. Doesn't know the difference between a broken clutch and a poorly adjusted one (don't worry, neither do I). Can go toe to toe with me on food consumption and win! T-bone next time dude? 2 each!!

Criggers. Despite being only 3 or 4 years old, a thoroughly awesome bloke. A few fun bits of lunacy had on the ride out and I'm sure there will be more to come, especially if we can get you down to the guildford massive rideouts. Still owes me two fags!! His helmet looks good in Daddyjobs trolley.

Paul the 6th. My new best friend perhaps? My only fear is that he won't reciprocate my love ... so I'm holding back before I let the emotion out. I think he's perhaps too popular to love just one man, so I may have to kill everyone else in the whole world. Likes to dress up like a Klu Klux Krayon. Needs to service his van.

Messi. I thought you were a man on the forum (who knows why!), turns out you're a lovely lady. I only exchanged a few words with you, but I can tell you're a top lady. Looking forward to chatting more next AR.

SoulKiss. Now I get him! After a few bits of banter on the forum, it all makes sense when I talk to him in person. One of those personalities that is too complex to be portrayed by the medium of text. Good bloke!

SuperVox. Top bloke. Sound and chilled out despite the effort required to get things organised and keep it all running. Thanks for organising it and we all had fun fighting with your nippers! :)

Pah. Met loads of other good people. Too many to list and comment on. Everyone made it an awesome experience and looking forward to more in AR13. :)

Other things I learned:

Falling asleep after lunch is perfectly acceptable at my age, but perhaps I shouldn't do this on my husband's bike at 60mph.

Tents and sleeping bags grow once used. Not one of those tents or sleeping bags I brought will go back into the stuffa sack it came in.

AR is smelly. Everything I own, including my car and top box, stinks of beer, smoke and chips. And it's now permeated the house too.

Achilles debridement (taking it off and stitching it back on again) and that much walking, running about and riding do not mix. I can't walk today.

Men generally like cake, big lumps of grilled meat, motorcycles and boobies. (Apart from Ralph, who likes to stay at home on AR weekend and knit jumpers for small lost dogs while watching the Antiques Roadshow, he just can't handle the love like the rest of us.)

That fire bowl was a birthday present to Stuart, bought mostly to stop him interfering with the BBQ which ususally resulted in it going out. It's one of the best presents I've boght him and keeps the boys amused at every get together. But if he doesn't stop playing with the ipad he got for this year's birthday and do his housework chores he may find 2 of his birthday presents combining to form a melted plasticky mess.

What I've learnt is:
-SV650.org once again proved itself to be a great bunch of people
-Rictus once again surprised us at different locations. Is he Gordon Flash or something?
-Burgman 400 can stay in your mirrors much longer than I expected
-When one wears an orange bib it makes people get out of ones way (only had it for a moment but I liked it:))
-BMW R1200GS is really comfy to ride (thanks to BBadger) but I'm not a bavarian convert yet
-Sleeping bags that fold into a tiny package don't keep you warm at night
-I can eat 4 sausage and bacon sandwiches for breakfast and still be hungry
-Hitting a cat's eye with sliders can be rather unpleasant
-Molesting Rictus for a coffee in the morning might require one to go and get some water but I don't mind (but I do need to invest in more make-camping-easier equipment)

and finally last but not least:
-I am looking forward to AR13

I learned:

To never ever let Paul 6th take my mobile phone while I am talking to my 17 year old Daughter.

That Aspalls Cider tastes great but does your guts in.

That it's really hard to take a cr@p when you can't pull your leathers down much below the knee.

That Sid Squid is ruder and funnier than I thought, he dry humped my bike for far too long, we should worry about him.;-)

That busy bodies that build scarecrow traffic policemen with cardboard box speed guns and put them on the roadside really wind me up and I want to bash them.

That I need to chill out more about busy bodies and scarecrows.

That I am really easy to please, beer, bikes, dry roads, good company - that'll do for me.

That scarecrow is definately somebody taking their job way too seriously. I stopped to get a picture on my way in to the AR and it is a female copper that lives there. Also, her number plate, from what I remember was along the lines of XXX TSG, (X being non descript) which I am sure all the old folk will remember from a few years ago.
Definately a copper that is never off duty.

+1 although unfortunately I don't think we spoke so I'm only just learning this!

+100, I froze my nuts off both nights despite wearing every layer I had with me. Tent was too big and airy too.

So what I learnt...

i) Despite probably appearing as an unsociable b'stard I'm petrified of large gatherings and speaking to people for the first time (yeah ok I already knew this) but I appologise for not speaking to more of you.

ii) Essex has some fantastic roads!

iii) You're all a bunch of lovely people who I hope to see again next year!

Oh and I know how to make an entrance and hold my bike up in mud, just about :mrgreen:

Well that would mean a bit of a shift in the current trend of the AR, the rideout would be the trip you take to get to me through the North of Spain. (They are amazing roads though)

I can't see any problems with a foreign AR at all.. If BSB are having a round outside of the UK then why not us? I volunteer clare/messie/jonathon to do it again seeing as they did such a cracking job.
