I detest football, but was veging out in front of the box and have to admit Man U were amazing. Ryan Giggs made the first three goals, after that Roma were out of it.

Bonus, most of my work team are based in Rome with several Roma fans among them. Been having some fun this morning. :smt096

Yup, sure was :D

I think that Chelsea's result was more impressive, though.

Good luck to L'pool tonight, not that I can see 'em losing by 4 goals at home

The man u result was impressive but from a non bias view(lol) the chelsea score was better gonna hammer liverpool next then man u in the final

But yes, Lionel Messi :)

Player? As in actor? If so, I concur he is indeed a fine role(over) player.

Very good in a melodrama.

Someones been watching too much La Liga:p

I am not a Man Utd fan, nor am i 'pork n' cheese', but Ronaldo surely is the best player in the world. Failing that the form player in world football this season. Realistically there are few players who are half as good as he is. Yep he's better than Ronaldinho and Messi  . Now if Zidane was still playing.....that would be another story.

... wearing hoodies, throwing coins and bottles, fighting each other. The game may be beautiful, but the "fans" can be ugly.

Especially those Northern ones.

Ooh this hurts..... But even I have to admit they were awesome last night. I remember when Arsenal used to play like that not so long ago :-?

Giggs, if only he was English I reckon we would have won the World Cup by now...

Very, very good performance. Unlike Arsenal, they looked like they wanted to play and score goals.....

Ronaldo's good, but it's the other side of him that lets his game down... Until he loses that, he'll never be "the best" in the World.

Chelsea were awesome 2nd half - hopefully we will spank both Lpool and the Man u on the way to taking the European Cup in Athens - lucky venue for us !!

Without even opening the linky i am going to presume its the goal that looked bloody like Maradona's ????

Good goal....but inconsistent player...fades in and out. Whilst Ronaldo has been consistently quality this season.

Pedrosa 23-04-07 07:58 PM

Re: football - man u last night

Grudgingly, (as I totally despise him as person) I have always thought that Maradona goal was simply breathtaking. Even despite it being against you nice Inglish peoples. Maradona's goal was also on World stage.

But please take a look at what Messie does from moment he gets ball. Unteachable natural ability.

If you want to see perhaps best goal "ever" from team point of view,(like something one would see on training pitch) take a look at the Van Nistelroy goal against Valencia last Saturday. Exquisite team goal.

Re: football - man u last night

We proper blew it vs the Geordies yesterday - Drogs looked like his old clumsy self again, Sheva's only contribution was when he managed to get in the way of a goal bound shot, even Lamps looked tired, how we will miss Essien v Liverpool, our bogey team!

At least JOse & Roman are friends again - Guardian writer said Abromovitch would be "insane" to let him go, & i think 95% of us supporters would agree, he is always one step ahead tactically which you could not say of Steve Mclaren, who doesnt seem to have any steps, let alone tactics !;)

:laughat:

Man Ure-nited... Sorry, but I can't stand them, nor Chelski - I don't really like the Liverpool either, but it was the lesser of three evils...

It would've been great for an all English final, however it wasn't to be...

I'd be happy for Liverpool if they could make it a 'Magnificent 6' European Cup wins (as long as the Toon beats them home and away next season :!:)

I for one hope Milan win.....and no im not a Chelsea/Man Utd fan. I just cannot stand the tripe that Liverpool serve up every week!

Its a constant source of amusement how 'pool fans bleat on about Carragher....such a journeyman player :)

That said Liverpool fans can be quality on European nights and the atmosphere is impressive.....shame they dont turn up when they play the premierships lesser teams!

thebluelion 03-05-07 09:11 PM

Re: football - man u last night

Well at least it will be a good FA Cup Final, both going for the treble now, even though i hate to say it but me thinks Chelsea will have to settle for the double

pete m 03-05-07 09:57 PM

Re: football - man u last night

i know - its like i siad blue lion, it was our WORST luck that Drogs goal touch has dserted him at crunch time...he had a nice chance to slot it in near post but clean missed it...:( , with about 10 mions to go i think....i just hate the way Lpool have fluked it twice in 3 yrs, but there crowd is fantastic, what an awesome atmosphere, we had to have more than one goal lead to take there, you cannot just discount the Anfield factor, it matters....
