Handlebar conversion

Sorry if this is duplicated but I want to convert my pointy from clipons to handlebars. Is it safe enough to drill the top yoke :smt043

In a word - no. There's not enough metal on the yoke of an S model to support handlebars.

I'm in the process of doing this to my curvy, I'm having the underside welded up then milled flat before drilling the holes for the risers. I was quoted £45 for whole job so quite happy with that tbh.
I was told you can use something like resin or JB weld to good effect but no 100% convinced so opted for the welded route.
