Ducati 848-My juices are beginning to flow!

Well the long awaited replacement for the 749 series is soon to be available. Aesthetically no different than the 1098 but available in the obligatory red plus a pearl white option.

With 30% more power and 30kg less than the 749 and a better power to weight ratio than the 999 plus engine mods and Ducati pushing it's refined motor and handling this could be a real temptation.

After deciding for the 749 as opposed to it's bigger brother and never really feeling the need for a whole lot more, I could be very satisfied with one of these!

Some serious deliberating is now about to commence.....:p

848cc.....

Bloody hell, Ducati are now 2cc off their original "Suberbike" cc limit. The Ducati 851 (going onto 888).

Makes me wonder, in 10 years time, will the jap bikes be running 1500cc and Ducatis running 2.0 engines to keep up?

A guy on the ducati forum has ordered a pearl white one, he reckons he should have it by the middle of December. I'll be interested in seeing it in the flesh.

I certainly could my friend. After all I would still get the amazing sound of the desmodronic valve gear. Get the motor spinning and that sound is incredible!:p(The dry clutch was only audible at standstill when used to frighten pedestrians and get other bike owners to screw their faces up in disapproval!:D)

BTW Rigor, that tinkling sound you hear right now is not the dry clutch, it is me attacking the slot of my piggy bank with a knife!

Hopefully yes, then the bikes would have to be bigger and I might stand an outside chance of fitting on one!
