Polishing plastic?
I need to polish the edge of a peice of polycarbonate plastic to a shine...optical polishing, if you will. How can I get it like this? I've smoothed the edge down with sandpaper, then with wet and dry...if I keep using finer and finer grades of wet and dry will it become shiny smooth? Or always dull? I'm a bit hesitant to use any polishing liquids, incase it interferes with the experiment I m planning to do with the material

Re: Polishing plastic?
I have special stuff I used when restoring pinball machines, but I found metal polish or T cut worked just as well

Re: Polishing plastic?
I'll give that a go tigersaw, I should be able to find something to make sure the surface is mega clean (its gonna be used for scanning electron microscopy to view the layers of material...the anti-scratch coating etc, so it needs to be really polished and clean)
Mrs_24/7....sorry for the boring question, but you didnt have to read it ;):p:D Matt |
