Zig, got a corker for you baby :-)

Basically, got home tonight to find a letter from Westminster Council.

Penalty Charge Notice Issue Date: 03/10/2007

Date of this notice: 05/11/2007

This is the first I've heard of this....apparently I was caught in Devonshire Place [F2] (WTF!?!) on the 03/10/2007 at 16:52:00.

Now, I was parked in this bay, but on the 1/10/2007 (and I have photgraphic evidence) as I was doing some work for a friend, but on the date in question I was at work therefore no where near the place. As it's been over a month, they are now demanding full payment, but this is the first I've heard of the "contravention" so they are demanding the full payment of £120. Feck em really, they are really taking the ****. Every time I park in the area I take a photograph of the ticket on my bike because I know how easy it is for someone to remove it, but on the day in question I wasn't there.

Dude, :help:

Cheers,

Paul

Well i was hoping for something a little kinkier but what can you do, eh?

Paul buddy, its an easy one. A lot of wardens use this scam, take the info of a vehicle one day and then issue a ticket to it when they havent hit their quota.

An easy one to dispute as i doubt the idiot will have a pic to provide when you contest it.

I win more than half: “I’ve had hundreds of parking tickets,” says Michael Zarghami, a 32-year-old estate agent from north London. “These days, if I can find a justifiable, legitimate way to fight any tickets, then I will. None of us is against yellow lines or parking restrictions that keep the traffic flowing, but most of them aren’t for that — they are just a way for councils to make money."
The nature of Zarghami’s work for Des Res estate agents means he often parks on yellow lines or in controlled parking zones while showing clients properties. “I have contested at least 30 and won just over half of them,” he says.
Zarghami was recently given a ticket and his car was clamped for parking on a yellow line close to his office on a Saturday, even though he hadn’t seen any street signs to warn him that the parking restrictions were in force at weekends. When he challenged Camden council over this, it said it was impossible to enter that parking zone without seeing the relevant signs.
Undeterred, Zarghami spent days driving around the area, logging and taking photographs of streets leading to the zone that had no obvious signs.
“Some were missing, some faced the other way and some were completely overgrown with moss,” he says. The council refused to accept his argument but Zarghami won his appeal at adjudication. He believes others should not be afraid of taking similar action. “But you need to be armed with the correct legal evidence, not just a moral argument,” he warns.

Good work Zig!
