Leaky Pipes
Thought I'd do the right thing and save some money by switching the boiler to holiday mode whilst we were away. Just got back to find no pressure in the system and its going down slowly again, I suspect it wasnt warm enough and it froze.
I am thinking I will be lifting floor boards in the morning - anyone know a better way? |
Re: Leaky Pipes
It would need to get pretty cold, like well below freezing, to fracture any pipes - could that have really happened?

Hmmm - good point. Will check with the neighbors. |
Re: Leaky Pipes
It's all your fault for going away on holiday. I mean what did you think you were doing. Holiday :?:

Re: Leaky Pipes
I went away but the boiler was on holiday mode not me...! I had to endure a week at the inlaws ;)
Anyway apparantly it wasnt cold at all so it wasnt the pipes - nice call on that one. Turns out to be the pressure relief valve is leaking. £200+ callout charge and another unwanted expense. |
Re: Leaky Pipes
Thats a bummer man. Like this month aint expensive enough without having to blow another £200 on that.
Chin up tho, at least you're not now replacing floorboards and thinking "well it wasnt under there" ;) |
Re: Leaky Pipes
Hey you got away with it lightly. I know someone who has just had to fork out £2.5k for a whole new heating system.
